Frequently Asked Questions

The 5×1000 is a special form of donation, resulting from the donation of a percentage of your personal income tax (IRPEF). This percentage can be donated to an organization of your choice and does not involve any additional cost to you.

Any individual who pays Irpef, whether an employee or a freelancer, can choose to whom to donate their 5×1000 within their Income Tax Return (using the 730 form or the Personal Income Tax Form – formerly Unico) or by submitting the appropriate form contained in the Single Certification.

The Revenue Agency annually updates the list of entities eligible for the five per thousand tax benefit.

Nothing. Donating 5×1000 is free because it’s a portion of the taxes you already pay and can’t be reimbursed. Therefore, it doesn’t increase your taxes and is a completely free gesture of solidarity.

To allocate 5×1000 to an organization, you must be a taxpayer. Taxpayers can decide to donate 5×1000 of their Irpef by inserting their signature in one of the five boxes in the UNICO, 730 declaration models, or in the form attached to the Single Certification (CU), if exempt from the obligation to submit the declaration.

To donate 5×1000 to the Paolo Chiesi Foundation, simply enter your tax code 92130510347 (Paolo Chiesi Foundation Onlus) in the “Financing scientific research and universities” box and add your signature.

Yes. All you have to do is fill out the supplementary form for the 5×1000 included in the Single Certification and deliver it in a sealed envelope to a post office or an intermediary (such as a CAF or accountant) authorized for electronic transmission; alternatively, you can upload the form yourself to the Revenue Agency portal.

Remember to write on the envelope “Form for choosing the destination of eight, five, and two per thousand of IRPEF” and also indicate your tax code and your first and last name.

If you sign without indicating the tax code 92130510347, your 5×1000 will be distributed proportionally among all the entities belonging to that group.

If you don’t include your signature in the 5×1000 section, your contribution will remain to the state. Leaving the 5×1000 destination field blank therefore offers no financial benefit to the taxpayer.

The 5×1000, the 8×1000, and the 2×1000 are distinct instruments, each intended for different purposes. By choosing one, you will still have the option of allocating the others to different organizations: for example, you can decide to donate 5×1000 to the Paolo Chiesi Foundation, 8 per thousand to a religious organization, and 2 per thousand to a political party.
